In the battle for the soul of a culture, it is not enough to be right. We must also be wise.
Who is invited?
An invitation letter has been sent to a select group of Christian leaders and thinkers who have the ability to contribute to a strategic dialogue on apologetics, church, culture, and strategy.
May I invite another guest?
We know we cannot reach every qualified potential participant. If you know a leader who could contribute significantly, please feel free to invite him or her. We ask for an RSVP from every person who will attend (see below).
What is the purpose of the meeting?
This is the first step in an ongoing process to identify more strategic ways to address church and culture with excellent Christian thinking. We are seeking increased unity in prayer, in scholarship, in teaching and communication, and ultimately in influencing our culture.
Who will be leading the session?
- Dr. Alex McFarland, President of Southern Evangelical Seminary, host of the annual National Conference on Christian Apologetics
- Steve Bradford, Program Director for BreakPoint (Prison Fellowship Ministries)
- Brad Bright, President of Bright Media Foundation, leader of the Discover God initiative and author of God Is the Issue: Recapturing the Cultural Initiative
- Tom Gilson, Director of Strategic Processes (Operational Advisory Services), Campus Crusade for Christ; host of the Thinking Christian blog and author on faith, science, culture, and strategy
What do we hope to accomplish in two hours?
- Pray
- Identify apologetics/scholarship strategic initiatives already in progress
- Begin to build a network of strategic thinkers on this topic
- Discuss primary points of challenge and opportunity
- Begin creating a unified vision for using apologetics and scholarship more effectively to impact our culture
- Plan for follow-through: future meetings and communication
When and where will the meeting take place?
